And it was glorious. Nearly full moon, snowflakes coming down, a small group of strong singers doing harmony. So many of the houses decorated with lights. Several people came to their doors and thanked us, beaming. They asked if we were collecting for charity. The lyrics on these hymns-----especially when you sing several verses--are so theologically rich.
One young couple even invited us inside to sing to them.
What a way to spend the evening of the Feast of the Immaculate Conception!
I even said, hmmm, this is a form of the New Evangelization, no? We left flyers in peoples' mailboxes, inviting them to a neighborhood hymn sing at our church on Nov. 18 with the Ottawa Fiddle Ensemble.
